Licence, until Easter, for James de Vetula,
Atynus Previdal, Bonachamus, de Philippo, and Petrinus Decanus, merchants of
Piacenza, to take 180 sacks of their own wool, which they have in the kingdom,
which they bought for their own use of others than Flemings or Hainaulters, and
which they can reasonably show to be their own, to any parts beyond seas, except
such as are within the power of the countess of Flanders, the said merchants
having made oath before the king's lieutenants in England that they [----] not
take out of the kingdom wools or other goods into Flanders or elsewhither
within the power of the countess of Flanders during the contention between the
king and the said countess which recently arose between Henry III. and herself,
and that they will not sell such wool or other goods to Flemings or others of
the power of the said countess, nor make exchange with them thereof, nor deal
by art or craft so that the said wools or other goods may come into the hands
of the subjects of the said countess, nor receive any money from the Flemings
for trading with wools or other merchandise to the behoof of the said Flemings,
nor avouch their goods nor those of any other subjects of the said countess,
the king with his council having ordained that if they attempt anything against
their said oath, he will take into his hands, as forfeited, their wools or
other goods found in the kingdom.

to audit the account of the said Eblo while he was seneschal of Perigord, he
having petitioned that it should be audited.

to the king's barons of the dioceses of Limoges, Cahors, Perigueux, and Saintes
beyond the Charente, to make an oath to the king of France (as already required
by Bouettus de Sancto Quintino) according to the form contained in the king's
letters to them, they having deferred taking the oath, because, among other
insufficient reasons, the letters aforesaid were addressed expressly to "
knights " and not to " barons "; and the said Bonettus is to
take into the king's hands the lands of all those who refuse, and shall hold

clerk, constable of Bordeaux, to pay the following debts, if they are true,
which Elias de Hauvill claims, and which the constable has refused to pay, to
wit: —arrears of the account rendered to Easter term last by the said Elias and
John his brother for the time that they were bailiffs within the land of
Gascony; money received to the king's use from land of the said Elias in
Gascony during his imprisonment there; money received by him to the king's use from
a man of that land and accounted for but restored to the man; the custody of
the castle of Bayonne from the said Easter term until Midsummer ; that of the
castle of Saut from the said Easter until Michaelmas and his expenses in the

Oct. 7. Rhuddlan.
Grant, in fee tail, to Alexander de la Peuere,
lord of Bergerac (Bragearaci) and Gensac (Genciaci), in consideration
of his homage, of the homage and service which John de Greilly used to make to
the king for the above castle of Castillon and its appurtenances, which the
said John held of the king; except the bastide called 'Leyburn,' which is said
to be within the lordship of that castle, and except the towns of Fouzer,
Varvan and Pomeroch, with all their parishes, all which the king wills shall
henceforth be appurtenant to the said bastide of Leyburn, the said Alexander
having quit-claimed them to the king for ever. A sore goshawk is to be rendered
as often as the said Alexander and his heirs happen to do their homage for the
same.

to anything advanced by the king against him for the time when he was lord of
the honor of Brigerak aforesaid.

Recognisance by Bernard de Burdelia, esquire,
of the receipt of the said 100 marks in his great need, on the security of the
said castle, which he forfeits the right to enter; and under penalty, if he in any
way go against this, of 1,000 marks, for the payment whereof he pledges the
said castle, so that he may not demand it back until the 100 marks and the
1,000 marks are both paid.

Whereas the king granted to Eleanor his mother
the pedage of the town of Myramand, with the passage (passagio curalli), the
fishery (nassis), and the king's meadow there, to hold to her for
life and to her executors after her death, quit of all fees, alms and charges
whatsoever for 1,450l., until the said executors have raised 10,000
marks from the same and other things, which are contained in the letters
patent, and the said pedage is charged with alms of the king's progenitors to
the sum of 435l. 16s. 8d. of
